DESCRIPTION
The painting "MY three YEARS" touches on the theme of the passage of time and the inner reflection on the life lived.
 
The character in the painting appears detached from the surrounding world.
 
Her relationship with the environment feels tense as she sits seemingly frozen in the moment, as though nature, represented by the plants and flowers, surrounds her but cannot penetrate her inner world.
 
This contrast between her inner state and her external surroundings emphasizes a sense of loneliness, which inevitably accompanies reflections on time.
 
The work reflects the complex connection between a person’s inner world and the external manifestations of time, creating space for a dialogue about age, memory, and self-acceptance.
 
BIOGRAPHY
Elena Schumacher (born in 1969 in Tula region, Russia) is a contemporary Russian painter who lives in Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad region.
 
Graduated from the department of Arts of the Smolensk State University (former Smolensk State
Pedagogical Institute) in 1993, she has been painting professionally since 2008.
 
During her career, Elena has held more than 30 solo exhibitions and participated in prestigious
group exhibitions and symposia in Russia and abroad.

Elena Shumakher works with acrylic on canvas. Inspired by expressionism, abstractionism, and postmodernism, she has developed her original artistic style by combining abstract and figurative elements.
 
Elena’s artistic research focuses on expressing feelings through color compositions, textures, and silhouettes.
